Part 13 is the best of the season, part 14 ends badly. The Baker writers are pretentious and have swallowed a dictionary, no one is impressed. You underestimate how big it was to get guest actors to do a full 14 episode season, Michael Jayston is spot on. Nice to see The Master again, can't stand Bonnie Langford in this, she ruins it. Glitz is decent comic relief, Colin Baker is superb and his sacking criminal. The matrix scenes are very Deadly Assassin and is a clear nod to that great story from 10 years earlier. Not enough explanation as to who the sleepers were. Saward and Nathan-Turner should be ashamed of themselves, having 18 months to make it then disagreeing at the death, who is in charge though? He should have been sacked, not Baker. Decent plot twist with The Valeyard being a kind of Doctor, but it is a bit confusing for the casual viewer. Enjoyed most of this.Linx D Oderanthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06587578831858117637noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5386390949828958591.post-26077216246096481842021-04-21T23:19:35.654-07:002021-04-21T23:19:35.654-07:00Watching all in order. I even dare say that from his entire run, Timelash and Vervoids are the only episodes I least like. It's such a joy after I have to emotionally dragged myself through Season 19 and 20. I still can't stand Mel though, and although I wish there's more of Sixth Doctor, I'm kinda glad that I don't have to see him with her again.Leehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03834286757867469483noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5386390949828958591.post-39882044110091065352014-01-22T15:00:23.039-08:002014-01-22T15:00:23.039-08:00What a fascinating script. You could open season 24 with McCoy in the role and established, without having to explain why his face has changed. As much as I enjoy part thirteen as it is, this version would make a far more satisfying conclusion to the sixth Doctor's tenure. I don't agree but they are just as valid as my own. I have a strange love for Colin Baker's era which I have tried to explain, but I accept there are flaws that are impossible not acknowledge. I just don't like it, because it thinks it's cleverer than it really is, it thinks it's harder than it really is, it became a show with too much posturing. Series 22 also had good bits, Trial of a Timelord also had good bits, but there's something about the leaden dialogue when I find even an episode featuring Patrick Troughton tough to endure.carlrnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5386390949828958591.post-92042395895809179372014-01-05T16:57:55.582-08:002014-01-05T16:57:55.582-08:00Found the original script to episode 14
