It's basically the predecessor of the epic arc that the New Who been had been selling for almost a decade. 8/10 for its epic scenery and Lalla and Colin's marvellous acting.

Though I have to agree with other commenter though, what the hell happened with Evelyn in here?? Somehow she turned into a mere running commentary, really out of place. If you took her character out of the story and changed Trinkett as the secret key, it still wouldn't change anything (probably even make it better). It's jarring because I listened to this story right after Spectre of Lanyan Moor where her character is so strong and independent.Leehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03834286757867469483noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5386390949828958591.post-14767243861816818852018-03-13T21:15:11.245-07:002018-03-13T21:15:11.245-07:00I've listened to this story, oh, four times no...I've listened to this story, oh, four times now, and I can't stand it because of one thing: Evelyn. Her dialogue is awful, she's trying to be funny, she does absolutely nothing interesting.

Maggie Stables is a great performer, and I cannot wait to hear more of her stories, but in this one, she is given worse than nothing to do. Maybe she was written into an existing script? I bet.

It completely pulls me out of the story, and that is why I still hate it. Which is too bad, because so much of it is interesting.konberghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04616226121996611123noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5386390949828958591.post-68537349797345641812017-06-26T21:19:22.735-07:002017-06-26T21:19:22.735-07:00Gallifrey brought me here. He's cracking in this adventure, and the wonderful, brave and clever Evelyn, my personal favourite companion... an utterly enchanting performance by Maggie Stables who is sorely missed. The standard of the Big Finish productions is always top notch. Fantastic. It's definitely my favorite of the monthly range up to this (admittedly early) point.David Pirtlehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00636601389899125100noreply@blogger.com
